DOULA SUPPORT FOR MUMBAI FAMILIES
A doula is your quiet anchor and a guiding light in a powerful moment —
someone who understands birth, holds your experience with care,
and stands beside you so you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Doula support is about being held — emotionally, physically, and informationally — through one of the most intense and transformative experiences of life.
As your doula, I offer calm, non-judgmental support that helps you feel safe, heard, and supported as labour unfolds.
What doula support can look like:
- Prenatal meetings to explore your hopes, concerns, and vision for birth
- Continuous emotional and physical support during labour
- Comfort measures, reassurance, and grounding
- Support for partners so they feel confident and involved
- Gentle guidance in navigating choices and conversations with care providers
I don’t replace your medical team — I support you.
This support is especially valuable if you want:
- Someone focused entirely on your experience
- Help staying connected to your body and instincts
- Support navigating unexpected turns with clarity and calm
Why Education & Doula Support Matter Together
Education and doula support work beautifully together.
Childbirth education helps you understand what’s happening, what options exist, and how decisions are made.
Doula support offers continuous presence — someone who knows you, your preferences, and your journey — holding space as labour unfolds.
Together, they help:
- Reduce fear and overwhelm
- Support confident decision-making
- Improve communication with your care team
- Create a more grounded, supported birth experience
Hi, I’m Anisha
Hi, I’m Anisha — a childbirth educator and doula based in Mumbai. I support parents in preparing for birth with understanding and intention, and I offer continuous, steady presence through pregnancy, labour, and early postpartum. I help parents understand the physiology of birth, navigate their options within the medical system, and feel supported throughout labour and early postpartum.

Let’s Connect
Choosing a doula is a personal decision. It’s important that you feel comfortable and understood.
If you’re considering having continuous support during pregnancy and birth, I invite you to reach out for a conversation. We can talk about your expectations, your care setting, and what kind of support would feel most helpful to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Ideally in the second trimester, so we have time to build a relationship and explore your preferences. However, you can reach out at any stage of pregnancy.
I do not provide medical care or make clinical decisions. Your doctor or midwife is responsible for your medical care. My role is to offer continuous emotional, physical, and informational support.
Doula support is not limited to a specific type of birth. Whether you have an unmedicated birth, epidural, induction, or cesarean, I remain by your side to support you and your partner through the experience.
I work alongside your partner, not in place of them. I help them feel confident in supporting you, suggest comfort measures, and ensure they also feel informed and included.
I remain on call around your due period and provide continuous support once active labour is established, regardless of the time of day.
We will have at least one follow-up visit after birth to reflect on your experience and support your transition. Additional postpartum support can be discussed based on your needs.
